One of my favorite ways to create a flower arrangement is to add some fruit to it! I love this orange flower arrangement because it not only smells amazing, but looks so great on a table and is so unique.
A friend of mine had a special request for a flower arrangement for her mom. I knew I wanted to use bright colors, so the addition of the oranges was perfect! Also, you were able to use the pun “orange you glad you…” Ha! There is no shame here!
Orange Flower Arrangement Shopping List:
- 3 blue hydrangeas
- 6 yellow roses
- 5 hot pink gerber daisies
- 5 stems of purple freesia
I picked all of these flowers up at the grocery store. You can easily substitute the freesia for alstroemeria if it is unavailable in your area.
I have a video below showing how I created this:
As you can see, you just take an empty large vase and insert a smaller vase filled with water into the large vase. Begin to fill the larger vase with your oranges (or any fruit you desire).
Next, start adding the flowers. Go from largest flower (hydrangeas) to smaller (freesia). By doing this you’re able to fill in any “holes” with the smaller flowers.
If you love the idea of working with fruit, you can easily turn oranges into place cards for your next event. You just make a paper “leaf,” write your guest’s name and stick the leaf in with a straight pin. See an example here.
