Cornucopia Cake

Thanksgiving Cake

So I know the first thought when it comes to Thanksgiving is pie…but as someone who would take a piece of cake over pie any day, made me think…hmmm – what about Thanksgiving cake?

This is crazy easy to do…especially since I used a store bought cake. Ha!

The cornucopia is what take the most amount of work, but all you have to do is follow these simple instructions:

1- Get a small kid’s size sugar cone and fill about one inch with water.  At the same time the water is soaking inside, dip the outside about 2 inches in a cup of water and let it soak for about 20 seconds. Remove from water.

2- Next, take your cone and put it in the microwave for 20 seconds. It should be soft and pliable.

3- You will take the end and wrap it around a pencil to shape the end.If you are a more visual person, this is the YouTube video I followed.

Trader Joe's Fall Chocolates

To fill my cornucopia, I used these beautiful Chocolatissimo chocolates that I picked up from Trader Joe’s.

I just put my ice cream cone “cornucopia” on a store bought chocolate cake (though a spice or pumpkin one would also be amazing) and just filled it with the chocolates coming out.  This was a small cake, so you could probably have even more of the chocolates coming out on a larger one.

This Thanksgiving cake was a hit with everyone and would be an easy addition to your holiday dinner!
