How to Decorate a Bundt Cake
Last summer I was invited to a friend’s house for dinner and had some beautiful local flowers on hand, so I wanted to bring her a decorated bundt cake as dessert. But the real hack here is that you can leave the flowers behind as a hostess gift! Don’t you just love when something does double duty? (Speaking of things that do double duty, I am obsessed with this cake stand because you can flip the top over to make it a punch bowl – brilliant. Check it out here!)
To create this I made a quick bundt cake (from a box…because I am no Betty Crocker), but did whip up a homemade cream cheese frosting. I iced the outside of the bundt cake and left the center un-iced so that I could put a small flower arrangement in it.
I had some local flowers and just put them in a small jelly jar sized vase and grabbed some hostas and some purple salvia from my yard to add a little extra to it!
My instagram husband (haaa – he’s been fired since the taking of this video) captured this to show how to decorate a bundt cake with flowers:
As you can see it, is a really simple way to make a cake even more beautiful with very little effort!
