American Flag Hydrangeas

Two Ways to Style Hydrangeas for Summer to create a perfect Summer Flower Arrangement

It’s no secret that I love hydrangeas for how versatile they are in a summer flower arrangement – they take up a lot of space, are simple to use and don’t cost a lot at all! So I wanted to show you two ways to style hydrangeas for summer.

Red White and Blue Flower Arrangement

So to make a patriotic arrangement that is perfect for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, you just need the following:

1- Red hots  (2-3 bags)

2- A mason jar

3- A round vase that will fit a mason jar inside with room to spare for the red hots

4- Two or three hydrangea stems

5- A mini American flag

I have a video below with a visual:

As you can see, you just take a mason jar full of water, place it into an empty vase, fill around it with the red hots, add your hydrangeas so that they are resting on the lip of the vase and then pop in an American flag set off to the side! Super simple and so perfect for the celebration of our country!

Lemon and Hydrangea Bouquet

Lemon Hydrangeas

I love, love, love using lemons in arrangements. First, they smell awesome. Second, they just say “summer” to me.

Here are the supplies you need:

1- Lemons (4-6)

2- A mason jar

3- A round vase that will fit a mason jar inside with room to spare for the red hots

4- Two or three hydrangea stems

5- One Bamboo Skewer

I have a video below with a visual:

As you can see, the concept is basically the same as the red hot arrangement above. You just take a mason jar full of water, place it into an empty vase, fill around it with the sliced lemons, add your hydrangeas so that they are resting on the lip of the vase and then pop in a lemon on a skewer! If you think the lemon is too “extra” just leave it out! It’s pretty either way!
