Host an Inexpensive Cookie Decorating Party
I love to host little parties for my nieces and nephews, but since they are all under the age of 10 and their palates aren’t quite yet refined, I do an inexpensive Valentine’s cookie decorating party. I save the nice cookies for the grownups ;).
- Cookie kit from Walmart $6 (See below)
- Wilton Valentine’s Sprinkles
- Candy Hearts
- Red Sixlets (They sell these for a $1 on the boxed cake aisle at Walmart and Target)
- Some extra frosting (if desired)
Here’s the cookie decorating kit from Walmart for $6. It came with a dozen cookies, some sprinkles and three tubes of icing. (They had tons of these in the center of the food aisles in my Walmart…kind of by the flowers.)
My kids LOVE these paint palette “plates” from Oriental Trading, so I used them to place the cookie in the center and put the candy around it.
I bought some extra icing to decorate the cookies with because there’s no such thing as too much frosting, right? This gets messy, so I have a roll of wrapping paper that I picked up from Hobby Lobby as the table runner so you can just throw it away when you’re done!
I think everything on hand came out to around $20 for everything, so not too bad for all of the fun!
